ExxonMobil showcases its green lubrication solutions at the China Cement Industry Green Development

News 44

Recently, the China Cement Industry Green Development Summit Forum and Ultra-Clean Emission Technology Exchange Conference were successfully held in Changsha, Hunan Province. This conference brought together outstanding experts, scholars, and enterprise representatives from the industry to discuss the new opportunities and challenges facing the cement industry under the background of synergistic efficiency improvement in pollution reduction and carbon reduction. ExxonMobil was invited to attend the forum, showcasing its integrated green lubrication solutions and providing new ideas for the cement industry to accelerate its "green transformation."

Since my country first proposed the "dual carbon" target in 2020, policies such as the "14th Five-Year Plan for Green Industrial Development" and the "Implementation Plan for Synergistic Efficiency Improvement in Pollution Reduction and Carbon Reduction" have listed green manufacturing as a key word for future development. Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) reiterated at its symposium on green and low-carbon development in industry that "the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality should be integrated into all aspects and processes of industrial production to comprehensively enhance enterprises' green development capabilities." Against this backdrop, the cement industry urgently needs to shed its label as a "high-energy-consuming, high-polluting, and resource-intensive industry." This summit forum, hosted by Cement.com, focused on in-depth exchanges on topics such as "innovation-driven development, pollution reduction and carbon reduction, and green development," aiming to solve the practical operation and maintenance problems of cement enterprises with intelligent technologies and innovative solutions, and to explore precise "breakthrough points" for energy conservation, carbon reduction, and green transformation in the cement industry.

Xuan Li, Business Development Director of Lubricants for Corporate Users at ExxonMobil (China) Investment Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech at the forum, highlighting ExxonMobil's "Mobil Green Lubrication Initiative" centered on the principle of "less is more." This initiative aims to provide integrated solutions, from initial diagnostic consultation and mid-term implementation of targeted lubrication products and professional services to post-implementation green benefit assessment. Through high-efficiency, energy-saving oils, professional lubrication services, and reusable packaging, it helps the cement industry achieve effective use of energy and resources under the "dual carbon" target, accelerating its transformation towards intelligent and low-carbon practices.

For the cement industry, one effective means to achieve the "dual carbon" target is to use high-performance oils to help reduce friction and energy consumption during equipment operation, thereby improving production efficiency. Addressing the harsh operating environment of cement equipment, Director Xuan Li detailed ExxonMobil's high-performance lubricants—Mobil SHC synthetic oils—designed to solve the lubrication challenges of cement industry equipment. Scientifically developed and formulated, Mobil SHC synthetic oils offer superior traction characteristics compared to mineral oils, helping to reduce fluid friction, lower operating temperatures, and improve gear efficiency. Furthermore, they provide excellent and balanced performance in both high and low temperature environments, while also possessing excellent viscosity-temperature characteristics, low oxidation at high temperatures, and good low-temperature fluidity. This helps customers improve productivity and profits, extend equipment and lubricant lifespan, and reduce energy consumption. This product series has already established a significant position in challenging and demanding applications.

In addition to striving for product innovation, ExxonMobil also provides comprehensive professional lubrication engineering services to help equipment operate stably in harsh production environments, including helping to solve challenging lubrication problems, assessing lubricant compatibility, and supporting fault analysis. Simultaneously, leveraging its digital service platform, ExxonMobil has created a one-stop online and offline lubrication service solution, aiming to provide the cement industry with forward-looking operation and maintenance services and intelligent equipment management through customized and professional maintenance solutions.

Furthermore, the products utilize reusable packaging to help clients further implement green transformation. A variety of flexible solutions, including collapsible liquid bag reusable containers, container tanks, IBC tanks, and grease ton bags, can help companies effectively reduce solid waste treatment costs, increase storage and transportation efficiency, enhance procurement flexibility, and contribute to the sustainable development of the cement industry.

In his speech, Xuan Li, Business Development Director of Lubricants for Corporate Users at ExxonMobil (China) Investment Co., Ltd., stated, "ExxonMobil has always been focused on creating sustainable solutions to meet the ever-changing needs of society. In the future, we will remain true to our original aspiration, join hands with industry authorities and partners, and do our utmost to support the vigorous green productivity of the cement industry and jointly contribute to the high-quality development of China's manufacturing industry."

The importance of cement to China's industry is self-evident. Under the general trend of low-carbon development, ExxonMobil will continue to gain in-depth insights into the development status and lubrication needs of the cement industry, and is committed to helping more industrial partners seize the "dual carbon" opportunities and achieve energy conservation and emission reduction through comprehensive green lubrication solutions.
